  • Stock Monitoring
YRDFA’s fisheries biologist reviews stock monitoring and management information and participates in discussions on salmon research, data, and management. YRDFA’s biologist represents all Yukon River fishers, and validates the effectiveness of state and federal management practices while raising an independent, scientific voice for the fishers of the Yukon River.
  • Fish Health
YRDFA's biologist participates in quantitative research on fish size, while participating in various meetings such as the Joint Technical Committee of the Yukon River Panel. The biologist also prepares for upcoming cycles of regulatory proposals at both the state and federal levels. The biologist works with other stakeholders to try to cooperatively work on this issue at the regulatory level and to help disseminate new information to stakeholders as it becomes available to aid in decision-making.
  • Climate Data Research and Analysis
YRDFA's biologist analyzes relationships and/or patterns between documented Traditional Ecological Knowledge, environmental data, and historical salmon abundance estimates to find patterns that explore ecological relationships associated with salmon run variability.
