Jason Hale -Communications Director

Jason joined the YRDFA team in the spring of 2007. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in commerce, with concentrations in marketing and management, in 1994. After that, he spent three years in Key West, Florida, working for singer Jimmy Buffett. He then moved to North Carolina and performed outreach and project management work in the solid waste and recycling field for a decade. While in these jobs he particularly relished the opportunity to communicate with diverse audiences and find creative solutions to outreach challenges.

Sharing a love for the outdoors, he and his wife decided to move to Alaska in 2007. When away from work, they can be found hiking, backpacking, kayaking, rafting, and mountaineering.
